And then when it was time to enter the arena – we were seated up front (what a thrill!) where we had a perfect view of the tourney field below. We watched a falconer with his bird walk through the great hall. They explored the dungeon with the same excited horror. They couldn't believe how incredibly realistic the castle was. Picture beyond – and then go ahead and run an extra mile past that. My husband and I didn't tell the kids where we were going, we just took a two hour drive one day and parked in front of a castle and said – surprise! The boys were BEYOND EXCITED guys. I did some research and discovered there was a castle in Atlanta attached to a mall. I remembered jousting and cheering for our section's champion – go Green Knight!! And I recoiled in squealing-girl-horror while walking through the “Torture Dungeon” (ewww)įast forward to my mid-thirties and 4 kids (all boys!) and I decided it was time for a return trip. (I have easily 8 pictures of my friends and I in front of the drawbridge). It was such a thrill for me – easily my favorite part of the trip.įrom the moment we arrived, I was wowed by the castle exterior.

When I was in 8th grade my class went on a field trip to Chicago, and while we were there we went to Medieval Times Dinner & Tournament. Recently the plot has changed – there is a Queen instead of a King running the tournament, and the story plays out a bit differently. Some knights got hurt (booo) and some knights saved the day (yay!) UPDATE: The plot to the Medieval Times dinner show used to be one of knights jousting in an entertaining tournament – and (in a nutshell) a “bad” knight came to visit and started a ruckus. I think this looks like such a fun night for the family, and am so glad she took the time to share! I'd love to hear your reviews on Medieval Times too ~ leave a comment to share. Would we go again.absolutely! (Very clean restrooms and parking is on grounds and no extra charge).Note from Laurie: My friend Jamie recently took her family to Medieval Times, and offered to share a review of her experience.

Mixed drinks & pretty much a full bar is extra (soft drinks/lemonade included with ticket price). They give you to go boxes to take home leftovers and wet wipes to clean your hands before & after the meal since you eat with your hands (drink the soup -). oh, my the best chocolate-mousse cake ever! We had a blast, relaxing great time. We had tomato soup (served hot & still steaming), garlic toast, a half chicken, one rib (very tender & meaty), one-half potato (baked) and an apple pastry.

Everyone in our party agreed the food was very good. We loved, loved the show and the kids loved the horses, the jousting, and costume effects. We each got a group picture with costumes ($3 extra for costumes-again worth it). We upgraded for the "Celebration" package ($16.00/ticket) but it was worth it. There were four in our party and we were able to use the bogo Spring Break special. I took my daughter and a friend to celebrate a 14th Birthday. Overall, we all had a good time.not sure I would go again, but worth the one time experience. The 11 year old really thought the sword fighting was real for a while. My daughter had the vegetarian meal and she said it was better than most dinner theater veggie meals she'd had. We had my kids with us (aged 17 and 11) and they had a good time. Even though it seemed like there should have been good seating everywhere (we were seated in the Blue Knight section right on the end), people were leaning forward trying to see what was going on, as most of the drama took place at the other end. Some of the announcements and parts of the show were hard to hear. We paid a little extra and went through the terror dungeon.even though it was one of the less expensive extra's I should have skipped it, very uneventful. They do try to sell you alot of extra's and everything is very pricey. The food wasn't bad, although our waitress said she had over 40 people she was serving and seemed a little overwhelmed. They do a pretty good job staying in character throughout the "palace".
